INTERNSHIPS AT THE GREATER DENTON ARTS COUNCIL
Interested in receiving training and real-life experience in the arts and non-profit management? The Greater Denton Arts Council is currently seeking interns to assist in the following areas: education and exhibitions, development, marketing and social media, and visitor studies and evaluation.
Internships are available to university students or recent graduates. Start and end dates are flexible but primarily run the length of an academic semester. Interns must be willing to contribute a minimum 10 hours of service per week. Exhibitions and Education Intern
Exhibition and Education Interns will work closely with GDAC staff in installation of exhibitions, research and curatorial projects, and exhibition evaluation at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center. In addition, interns will assist with the development, implementation, and promotion of education programs such as classes, camps, performances, and outreach events for visitors of all ages.
Development and Membership Intern
Since 1980, the Greater Denton Arts Council and The Arts Guild have given over $1.5M in grants to arts organizations in Denton. Development Interns will work closely with GDAC staff in the creation and management of grants, funding efforts, and solicitation for special projects. In addition, interns will assist with the coordination of membership initiatives and provide support for event mailings, donor recognition, and record keeping.
Marketing and Social Media Intern
Marketing and Social Media Interns will assist with the public relations, marketing, and social media efforts of the Greater Denton Arts Council and its member organizations. Interns will help maintain up to date press contacts, quarterly event calendars, online postings, press clippings, and updates to GDAC’s website and social media.
Visitor Studies and Evaluation Intern
Visitor Studies and Evaluation Interns will assist with the welcoming of guests and staffing of the Welcome Desk. Interns will collect data through observation, questionnaires, and interviews of museum visitors and the community and prepare summaries of evaluation findings.
