63 & 93: GENERATIONS IN CONVERSATION
63 & 93: Generations in Conversation, an exhibition featuring artwork created by artists 30 years of age and younger on display alongside artwork created by artists 60 years of age and older. Fifty works of art split evenly between younger and older artists, twenty-five for each age range. This exhibition will focus on influences and conversations, emphasizing how artists from different generations create artwork. The exhibition is not meant to be a competition but a point of conversation, drawing two age groups often seen in opposition to one another due to preconceived ideas. The exhibition will explore changes in technique, media usage, environmental and technological influences, and how artist representative of two different periods, the 1960s and the 1990s, are inspired.
This exhibition is funded in part by a grant from the Texas Commission on the Arts
30 UNDER 30
The North Texas area is filled with amazing young talent, from students at the local universities to artists with no formal training, we are lucky to have these creative young people in our community. The Greater Denton Arts Council wants to showcase these young artists 30 years of age or younger, connecting them with our supportive community. 30 UNDER 30 was created to give North Texas artists a chance to showcase in a space without having to worry about having 20-30 pieces to fill up a gallery show.
