ARTIST STATEMENT
Once thought of as a weed by the wayside and a nuisance to crops, the common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) is now recognized as a vital link in a fragile ecosystem.  This piece is about interconnectedness and resilience.  Hope is scattered with every windblown seed, and something life-affirming endures beyond discomfort and loss.
