Artist Statement
Baskets are made by discovering materiality and mastering pliability and tension, explorations that mirror my physical activity in the studio. I wrap my clothing around armatures that reference traditional baskets in order to imbue these forms with textiles that have held my action. I aim to express corporeality through form.
