Kenny Nguyen - Concord, North Carolina
Infinite Threads No. 3, 2020
silk fabric, canvas, threads, acrylic, pins
40 x 32 x 5

Artist Statement

Using deconstructed and reconstructed fabric, Kenny-Nguyen explores the concept of cultural identity, integration, and displacement. Born and raised in Vietnam, currently living in the US, Nguyen sees the alteration of painted silk to a sculptural-form as a visual second skin. These cut, torn and layered-forms represent the artist’s cultural transformation.
