Artist Statement

I investigate abstracting and transforming elements of the abject through the juxtaposition of materials that have vastly different sociocultural connotations — gemstones and fingernails, precious metals and pubic hair.  My work confuses the emotional binaries between seduction and repulsion, the desire to touch and the desire to cringe away.
