Artist Statement

Hricovsky takes signifiers of traditional painting, such as stretcher bars, collage and paint, and pairs them with untraditional materials such as pipe cleaners and pained fabric.These pieces work through material hierarchies by utilizing lower level materials and transcending the perceived barriers of the material.
