“definition masculi” – define masculinity

In this image, I’m asking what it is to be a man with quotes from different figures of history that I feel represent various aspects of manhood. We have a ruler of the Roman Empire along with philosophers that express the things needed to be a man. Their quotes written in a journal, a place for private thoughts and contemplation, laying between the pages I have a bundle of wildflowers and thistle, all held down and keeping the book open with a closed pocket knife. The setting for this scene is open nature, rocky ground. The very environment that a “man must prove himself to survive”. The statement, one can say I’m making, is that the nature of man is that of nature itself; nurturing, seeking balance, yet unforgiving.
